Speed Check Update

A small update, Speed Check’s UI has been looking impressive so far. The car physics had a live demo 2 days ago – was quite cool. Here’s a screenshot of the log on screen:

That Announcement

This May, busy time for a lot of people will be the first ever preview of Speed Check you’ll ever get. After so many years of pre-production, it’s finally nice to say – it’s happening (even though this is very small). It will feature a simple single player mode which will have an online leader board. What’s been going on?

We’ve got a UMD done and work has started on the demo’s UI. It’s important not to spoil the game this early – so this demo will be built from scratch. Programming is beginning quite soon also – just need art support.

Shine like you mean it

Basically this week was adding finishing shines to the Main Community Section – making everything just look nice! Showroom is looking quite nice at this early stage also, just a lot of work needs to be done here and also the chat rooms to get the whole community section done. Once these are complete, screenshots will be as always available!

So, here’s something new – replacing the old Credits thing, which looked horrid anyway is BUD! It’s quite a small feature, but it’ll always be on the screen – even when you’re racing! (Racing Screenshots coming next month depending on car art). It contents are just there to guide you – your current car, balance and your status, simple.

Pimp My Warthog Flashback

So Pimp My Warthog will be back for a 5th and final entry to the series. I just thought it would be nice to post a flash back. PMW, was initially planned to just be a humorous quick add onto a Halo Flash Game, but as time came, Machall Comics (creators of the really cool) warthog was put into use for some action in a comical quick customization game that was aimed at a Halo audience. I have had a great response for most of the series, but when I look at the negatively and saying how pointless the game was I realise it was quite pointless... heck, what’s the point in wasting your time with something that just lets you do something to a warthog? Wow... how the heck did that get so big? One word, luck. FUCKING hell, I actually hate the project all together. It’s quite laughable, but I’m being mature about the 5th title, the Machall Comic look will be out, bringing in my own art work – it’ll contain a neat little game mode where you drive around, you can even go co-op on one computer, someone using the mouse to aim the turret and shooting whatever comes in the way while someone else using the keyboard to drive the warthog….. This think Mario Kart with Warthogs? Does that sound pleasing? Of course the project will be a small scale one, but the series has gathered up a quite lot of rumble on the internet – and no surprise people took the time to make the franchise their own!

Tutorial Time Held Back

Looks like a small delay to May sometime on Tutorial Time’s sequel. The reason being is that I’m doing quite a lot of client freelance work and haven’t really got the chance to do my hobby of creating interactions like this. Even work on Speed Check has been stalled due to the work I’m doing – but heck, if I’m getting paid for doing it and not getting paid for doing a hobby then which one would you pick? At this time I’m not going to give any promises on when in fact it’ll be out.
